Armando Diaz (b. Dec. 5, 1861-d. Feb. 29, 1928), Italian general and a Marshal of Italy, commanded the 93rd infantry during the Italo-Turkish War, and at the outbreak of World War I, assumed command of the 49th division and, later, the 23rd army corps.
